It's thought to have come to Europe from Tibet 17,000 years ago with the ice age. It can be found growing on sand dunes, on the banks of rivers and streams and on sunny slopes across Europe and Asia.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThe shrub is tolerant of both drought and frost as well as air pollution. It produces a large number of small, green and brown flowers which grow together in racemes.
