As we get older specific hormonal shifts, particularly oestrogen decline in menopause, are associated with changes in collagen content, hydration, elasticity, barrier function, and healing. This is hardly surprising given that the skin is a major non-reproductive target for oestrogen, with a high density of oestrogen receptors particularly on the face and neck. The reduction in oestrogen and collagen can have profound effects on elasticity, firmness and hydration levels and skin can often feel more sensitive or irritated.

Serenity Serum was formulated with this in mind, oils and botanicals with phytoestogens to support decline in oestogen and skin elasticity are supported by further oils and herbs that stimulate cell renewal and collagen synthesis and soothing botanicals to relieve irritation.

Key Ingredients

Lunaria - is highly regarded for its ability to aid in cell regeneration, repair, and overall skin health. It is particularly valued for its high concentration of long-chain fatty acids, specifically nervonic acid, which is crucial for repairing skin barrier function and supporting tissue

Gotu kola - often considered the gold standard in botanical collagen boosters, it contains triterpene compounds that directly stimulate fibroblasts to synthesise Type I collagen.
Gotu kola and lunaria oil stimulate the skin to produce its own ceramides.

Liquorice Root - contains liquiritin and flavonoids that stimulate epidermal proliferation and enhance collagen formation. It help to hydrate and moisturise the skin and rich in potent antioxidants that can help to protect the skin from free radical damage reducing and softening fine lines and wrinkles.
Liquorice also Liquorice helps to preserve hyaluronic acid, which has the ability to retain up to 1000 times its weight in water and keeps skin plump and bouncy.

Rosehip - Serenity Serum contains the oils from both the seed and the fruit of rosehip. These are rich in vitamins A, C, and E to support the collagen matrix, repair cellular damage, and soften fine lines. Also a natural source of trans-retinoic acid further supporting collagen synthesis and supporting healthy cell turnover.

Pomegranate Oil - Is a thick luxurious oil containing a variety of phytoestrogens, these plant compounds mimic weak estrogenic activity to potentially support hormonal balance and skin elasticity, particularly beneficial for peri and menopausal related skin concerns. 
Rich in antioxidants and polyphenols this oil has natural protective qualities, shielding skin from UV and free-radical damage. It supports cell regeneration and repair and effectively reduces and prevents wrinkles in the epidermis.

Avocado Oil - The essential fatty acids profile, particularly oleic acid, antioxidants, and vitamins A, D, and are able to deeply penetrate the skin to relieve severely dry, chapped, or rough skin while strengthening the skin barrier to prevent future moisture loss.
Beta carotene, protein, and lecithin work together to increase collagen metabolism, improving epidermal elasticity and reducing the visible signs of premature ageing.

Red Clover - Topically applied red clover extract provides targeted support for ageing, firming, and structural benefits to menopausal skin by acting as a topical phytoestrogen. During menopause, the rapid decline in oestrogen causes a severe drop in skin thickness, moisture, and elasticity. Red clover is exceptionally unique because it contains four major structural isoflavones (genistein, daidzein, biochanin A, and formononetin) that mimic oestrogen specifically inside the skin's surface receptors.

After cleansing and while the skin is still damp with your chosen botanical Hydrosol or Lusan Essence, place 3-5 drops of serum into your palms, gently press on to your face and neck, and smooth with soft upward strokes if you wish.

Using your ring finger gently press a small amount around the eyes.
